NINA MONTERO, MASTERS LEVEL CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGY INTERN
Nina is a bilingual (Spanish) clinical intern at Leyden Counseling Services, working out of our Oak Brook office. Nina attends Benedictine University where she is pursuing her Master of Science in Clinical Psychology. Nina has completed most of her graduate level course work and recently sat for the National Counselors Examination. She received her BA in Psychology with a Minor in Spanish at Benedictine University. Nina also completed 5 years of study in Medical School in Monterrey, Mexico and possesses a Masters in Fine Arts in Classical Dance Performance.
Nina provides child/adolescent, adult, couples and family therapy in both English and Spanish. She has a very engaging and warm approach that helps her make an instant, therapeutic bond with clients. She has vast experience working with people of culturally diverse populations, especially in her current work with the DuPage County Health Department as a Federal Affordable Care Act Patient Navigator. Nina has strong affinity towards Integrative and Eclectic approaches, and utilization of Expressive Therapies (Art Therapy, Dance Therapy, and Music Therapy).
